Clinical Supervision

Julia Avnon
Julia Avnon

Supervision is a vital space for reflective practice, emotional grounding, and professional development.

Jessica and Julia offer clinical supervision to therapists, counsellors and other professionals working therapeutically across the lifespan. Both have particular expertise in working with neurodivergent children, young people and their families, including those with autism, ADHD and other neurodevelopmental differences.

Their supervision is open to practitioners working across different therapeutic modalities and professional settings, offering a reflective and collaborative space in which to explore clinical work, professional relationships and the wider contexts in which practitioners work.

Jessica and Julia offer supervision to:

  • Therapists and other clinical professionals working across the lifespan

  • School counsellors, wellbeing and pastoral staff

  • SEND professionals

  • Practitioners working in multidisciplinary teams, healthcare settings and independent practice

Supervision is not simply about discussing client work. It is about creating a dedicated space in which practitioners can reflect on both their clinical thinking around clients and their own responses to casework. This reflective attention allows practitioners to remain emotionally present without becoming overwhelmed or reactive. From this place, the therapeutic space can be held with greater clarity, steadiness, and care.

Jessica and Julia both place considerable importance on the relational aspects of supervision, recognising that effective clinical practice requires not only theoretical understanding and professional knowledge, but also the capacity to reflect on the emotional, interpersonal and systemic dimensions of therapeutic work.

Their approaches are informed by their respective therapeutic backgrounds while remaining open, integrative and responsive to the needs of practitioners working across different modalities.

Areas of speciality

Jessica and Julia share extensive experience of working with neurodivergent children, adolescents and families, including those navigating complex emotional, developmental and educational needs.

Both recognise the importance of understanding neurodivergence within the wider context of an individual's relationships, family, educational or professional environment. Their supervision provides space to explore these complexities, including the interplay between therapeutic work, neurodevelopmental differences and the wider systems surrounding the individual.
